conversations...
the friendships with the regulars. the ones who come at 9:45 a.m. to wait for the doors to open at 10. the ones who always greet us with the nicest hello's and how are you's. the same cute people that love to see taylin and love to see us there.
there are 2 old grandpa's in particular that i love. they're so funny & cute.
here's the conversations i had with each of them today...
me: hey gene! how are you?!
i couldn't help but smile really big and giggle to myself. it was so funny to me because he was so confused at why i'd want to do that.
here's my other conversation...
tom: how are you two ladies doing?
i want a love like that when i'm old. it brought tears to my eyes.
i love that he was {courting} her. and that he loved her so much.
i'm pretty sure those 2 conversations made my whole week.

thursday thrifties
i get all giddy and excited! it's nuts. i know. but it's such a thrill! i love it!
and i feel like i'm stealing everything because of the good deals i got.
here we go...
my thursday thrfities:
isn't she fancy?! i love her skinny self and those curvey legs. and it matched my nightstand/dresser i got last week. i haven't finished painting it yet... but it'll be cute!
i saw a diy craft with these that i'm wanting to make. i got all of these in a bag for {$1}.
the wire basket on the top shelf i got at the beginning of the summer for
{$1.50}.
and the big jar that is currently holding my ribbon i found for {$3} this past week. it's the same big jars you find at walmart. it didn't have the lid... but i still loved it.
another place holder. this is currently drying from a black paint job. {imagine that!}
clipboards: {.75} each
i stole this right off of the moving cart they were bringing out. i don't think the lady was happy with me... but i wanted it. and i saw others eyeing it down.
{$3}
{it's a vicious hobby people}.
this shelf had the original price tag from tj maxx on it for $12.99.
love this key! it was an ugly red color. didn't take a before. i got too excited to paint it black.
new favorite spray paint color... SILVER! love it! didn't take a before of this because i was too excited to try out the silver.ness.
why on earth would anyone get rid of these?! i about peed my pants when i saw it in all of it's ugliness before. i knew i could make it purdy.
{if any of you shop for these things... you know that they retail about $15 or up for this size.}
big metal picture frame: {$2}
vintage canister
new in box mini shelf: {$2}
got way excited when i saw this! a lady that frequently thrifts daily like me too was jealous. i felt happy i snatched it before her. i think she came up to me a number of times saying... "what a beautiful clock" and "enjoy that beautiful clock." do you think she wanted it? ha.
working and all! didn't even have to paint it.
vintage owl pot holder thing
tay's new chair. she loves it. it was a poopy brown color. i quickly changed that!
cake stand: {$4}
i hope i get lucky tomorrow and this next coming week.

thursday thrifties
silver lamp: {$3}
not sure what i'm going to do with this yet. any ideas?
expandalbe file folder: {$.60}
i haven't finished this one yet... so you only get the {before} right now. this was priced at $25, but i talked the guy down to $15. {cha.ching!}
these didn't come from the d.i. i can't imagine anyone wanting to get rid of something like this.
my jaw literally dropped when i saw these. i did a fast run/walk to them. hoping that nobody would see what i was running for and steal them from me. {i'm crazy. i know. you become crazy when you become a thrifter.} the picture doesn't really do them justice. they're TALL! and chunky. and i love them. didn't even have to paint them.
{$6} for ALL of them! woot! woot!
plate stands & square plates
the lamp, lamp shade, and berry thing at the bottom: {$3}
i didn't get a picture of the after of the lamp. i didn't really do anything different other than remove the purple ribbon and replace it with black ribbon.
but i took the berry arrangement and spray painted it black.
it adds to the candlestick holder.
i think this was {$.75}

swoosh
that's how i felt how today went. how this week went.
i had a lot on my to.do list and i got quite a lot of it accomplished. {the real to.do stuff. like... laundry, cleaning, bills, etc. not like... blogging and wasting time on the computer or watching my dvr shows.} it feels good to cross things off of my lists.
i didn't, however, get to blog about things i really wanted to share. {pumpkin patch. thursday thrifties. and life in general.}
maybe next week.
we have a long but fun day planned for tomorrow. it'll be a good day.
happy weekend ya'll!

here are the facts...
i love the fall.
the smells.
the food.
the colors.
i love to wear a cute pair of jeans with a zip.up hoodie. with cute shoes... of course.
i love my family. every last one of them.
i have the most amazing hubby.
and a beautiful healthy sassy little girl.
i love them! they are my life.
i love to spray paint things black. it's very addicting.
black is classy.
i love the gospel. i know it's true!
i love to thrift. it's also very addicting. one of my most favorite addictions.
i love to shop.
i need to run & tan tonight. i'm looking forward to my date with the treadmill & tanning bed.
i make lists. lots of them.
and i love to organize.
i can't sleep without a part of my body touching my hubby's body. {like my leg on his. or my arm on his chest.} it's comforting.
the sound of rain on the roof makes me smile.
and i love the quietness of a snowfall.
i think a lot. and probably too much for that matter.
i also worry about things that i can't control.
i always wear my seatbelt when i'm driving. always.
i have to be showered and ready for the day before 11 a.m.
i love to find new blogs. inspiring ones. and pretty ones.
i don't blog as often as i'd like to.
i think i have bad circulation in my hands and feet. they're always cold.
i should be doing other things at the moment. like laundry. and some cleaning.
i look forward to 5:30 when my hubby gets home.
i love my little girls laugh.
i have meetings that i don't want to go to.
i want to be better.
i really want a nice camera. and expensive one. with a few lenses to go with it. so i can take pictures of all of the things i love and little things that make happy.
that's all.

whew
we decided to take a little family trip up north for the weekend. we hit up missoula, mt. coeur d'alene, id & spokane, wa. so so pretty! we left saturday morning and got back late last night. i now need a vacation from my vacation.
it's so pretty in northern idaho and adam & i are now talking about someday moving up there. we love it! if you've never been up that way... i suggest you take a drive sometime! you won't regret it.
i do regret not taking enough pictures. they're all mentally taken in my head... but i wish i had them on my camera so i could show you.
i had lots i needed to do today. a crazy day to say the least. doesn't it seem like it's always the most crazy when you return from a trip? all i wanted to do today was sleep & unpack. i did neither of those.
i do have fun posts for you soon. it's just a matter of me getting more energy to finally post about them. :)
that's my weekend in a nutshell.

finding hope
i thought about getting political and telling you what i saw on the {liberal today & good morning america} news this morning while waiting to see the local weather.
but... i'd rather not stir the pot and keep this on what today should really be about.
i'm thankful for those who fight for our freedoms here in the good u.s. of a!
the events that happened on 9/11 will never be forgotten. and my heart goes out to all who lost loved ones and lost lives.
i found this the other night when i was preparing for a mutual lesson. i'm so thankful for the gospel in my life!

busy little bee
i swear the days are flying by around here. and i've got lots on my brain.
brace yourselves.
do you have those days? where you wake up and it's a pure get.up.and.sprint from the time your feet touch the floor to the time they nestle under your covers. i feel like the past few handful of days have been like that for me.
good things are happenin' around here. i feel happy about lots of things. life is good to me and i'm thankful for such a wonderful and supportive husband. and for a growing little healthy girl who i absolutely love to pieces! {although she makes me feel like i'm going mental somedays.}
granted... not all days around here are considered happy & great. but i choose to make the best out of what i've been given. and yes... there are days when i just want to dig a hole, cut all forms of communication off and cry and scream to let my frustrations go. i'm human. and i hope that i remember the low's and hard times in my life. but really... when i take a step back and try to look at my life in a different perspective, i can't really complain.
and i like being busy. it's good for me to be busy. it makes me appreciate those few moment i get to be lazy. i feel so much more productive and happy when i'm busy. busy is good. {for the most part.}
can i get a holla to all of my new blog followers too! yay! i love blurking and finding new blog gems. but it's just as exciting to get others blurking my way too! you guys make my day!
i really do have more thrifites i can't wait to show you! thrifting for me is so stikin' exciting!
i think this quote fits me quite well.
and at the end of the day... good or bad... i'm just thankful that i have a loving & forgiving savior. a husband who loves me unconditionally. a little girl who i adore and love to be a mother to. and family that is always by my side.
what more could i ask for?

ramblin'
nothing too exciting going on around here.
but yet... it still seems like we're always busy.
does anyone else feel that fall crispness in the air? especially at nights? as much as i LOVE fall, i'm just not ready for it yet. i'll take as much sun & heat as i can possibly get before the fall rolls on it. but i love yummy fall smelly candles and baked goods. yum. can't you smell 'em now?
played around with my mamacita & sister the past couple of days. i love love love them! by far the most amazing women ever! we always have fun together. and we shop.
littls miss t is quite the sassy pants. and is very girly. always dancing around on her toes. checkin' herself out in the mirror. wearing her little tutu skirt to the d.i. & walmart. getting her toes painted. makes me just want to eat her up. i love her personality.
i still have pics from the buxton reunion. fun times! maybe you'll get to see them soon.
i've got some more thrifties for you too! can't wait to show them to you!
that's all for now.

thrifty finds
I LOVE vintage towells. They don't make 'em like they used to. I adore the patterns & colors! I head straight for the towell section to search for these beauties. I think I got all of these for $3. What?!
$5. Couldn't pass it up. I still need to clean it up. Maybe paint it? What do you think?
I don't think this is vintage, but it looks like it could be. It now houses Tay's barbies & dolls. Love it! Only $1.50!
This was a super ugly brown wood color. I hated it, but loved the design. Nothing that a little black spray paint can't do! A sweet steal at $2.
I wish I would've taken a picture of the before. It was an ugly blue spackled D. Black spray paint works wonders! I feel like I stole it for only $1! {It had a sticker on it from Roberts with a price of $15!}
Keep checkin' back for loads of my other projects and purchases! I can't wait to show you them!

thrifties
i use to go a couple of days a week. now i go almost every stinkin' day.
and it's gotten to the point that i feel like if i didn't get there early enough, i feel like i missed out on something sweet that someone stole from me.
and you have to be careful with thrift shoppers too. they're right out mean. you gotta watch your cart like a hawk and if you see something you like... just grab it and put it in your cart before someone snatches it right out in front of your face. they don't care if you're looking at it and debating whether to get it or not.
it's becoming quite the addiction these days.
plus i like the fact that i'm taking someone else's old stuff and making it new!
i'm going to start posting my thrifty finds so you can see how awesome it is to second hand shop!
you might just become addicted yourself!

little family weekend
A few weekends ago... we randomly decided to get packed up and head on down to Utah for the weekend.
I had never been to the Hogle Zoo and it had been a while since Adam had been. And I'd been hearing so much about The Living Planet, {I loved The Living Planet! It totally rocks!}, that we just decided to make a weekend out of it.

I love the stage that Taylin is in. {For the most part. She does have her moments.} Lately... all she wants to do is dress herself and wear her swimming suit. {Don't blame the girl. I could live in mine!}
She loves getting her toes painted. Putting on lotion. And shopping & wearing shoes! {A girl after my own heart.}
She came to me holding a headband and wanted me to put in on her just like mine.
Such a stylin' lady.
I ♥ her!

we ♥ the sun & health
We're back to normal health now! {Hallelujah!}
The little miss and I are taking every possible moment of catching rays of sun.
. Lots of pool time.
. Zoo trips.
. Park swinging/sliding & running in the grass.
. Eating lots of snow cones & otter pops.

Oh it makes me happy to see the sun come out and play. And I don't even mind a day in between that it rains hard and gives us a little lightening and thunder show. {At least it's not snowing!}

I loved Natalie last year when she auditioned and wanted her to get picked over her friend Katie. {Those who watch know the story and what happened.}
I have no words to describe how much I LOVE . LOVE . LOVED her audition from last Thursday! I downloaded that song and I think I listen to it on repeat ALL day long. And since I had it on DVR, I've been watching it over and over and over again.
I wish I could dance like her. I think I have it all memorized now.
Her every move gives me chills.
I'm totally hoping she makes it to the end this year. She's my favorite so far.

Came in 34th. {Results found here}. Shaved 2 minutes off of my old 5k time I did last October! {I was more than happy with that considering I only ran twice this week and once last week.}
Workin' my way up to the half marathon in September. {I have a LONG ways to go!}
Melissa... {the lady in the pink above... was my motivator. She ran hard! I had to stay with her to keep up!}

potty time
She LOVES her new potty, but hasn't gone in it yet. I'm in no hurry to potty train her, but every time she messes her diaper, she brings me a new diaper & wipes and lays down for me to change her. So I know she knows what's going on.
So... we thought... let's get her a potty and see what she does.
She pretty much just loves to run around naked and hang out on her potty.
And poops on the floor next to it.
Nice.

I'm in a funk. A blogging/creative/motivated funk.
The sun is out and I feel like doing absolutely nothing but soak up every bit of ray of sun and warmth.
And then at nights... I have all of my creative thoughts and ideas come to my mind and I'm wanting to stay up late at night and re.decorate my house, clean, re.arrange, bake and write all of my thoughts and ideas down before I forget. Then morning comes... and all I want to do is enjoy the sun & Taylin.
But I need my sleep.
My mind doesn't shut off at nights like Adam's does. He can be asleep in seconds. Me... hours.
I love ALL of you who leave me comments. You make my day! Even when it's been few and far in between posts... you still come back for more.
Thank you!
And... I love the sound of acrylic nails as I type on the keyboard. I also want a typewriter to type all of my thoughts on a clean white sheet of paper.
I'm off to bed. To think, dream, create, and think about how I should be sleeping but can't.
Do any of you get this way?

spring has sprung
It's about time spring has finally came to visit. Hopefully, it decides to stay too. I think if we ever got any more sprinkles of snow I'd die.
I think the start of spring gives me more motivation and goals more than New Years does. There is just something about the sun shining, clearing away cobwebs left from winter, heavy duty cleaning & gidding rid of the unnecessary, that makes me feel fresh, rejuvenated & ready for the up and coming spring & summer.
We had a beautiful weekend and I very much enjoyed every bit of it.
. heading to {D} town to judge the THS cheer tryouts. {FUN!}
. visiting mom. dad. rad. neesh. g.ma & g.pa buxton.
. doing hair & nails for neesh. mamacita. & g.ma b.
. going to the zoo. zoo. zoo!
. eating at the new Hardhat Steakhouse.
. enjoying every bit of ray of sun!
. a lovely sunny sunday.
. and a bit of shopping.
. and lots of love and fun with the hubby & little miss.
I ♥ spring!

conference weekend
Every 6 months when it's conference weekend, my mom's side of the family gets together and has Chinese Sundaes on Sunday. We've done this for as long as I can remember and I look forward to it when conference rolls around.
I have A LOT of family on my mom's side and it's fun to be able to see all of the b.jillion's of cousins and to laugh, eat, play and to be together as we listen to our prophet and the rest of the church leaders.
I thoroughly enjoyed the conference talks. They were so good and what I think we all needed to hear. I'm so thankful for forever families and for the gospel in my life!

today
- I'm wishing I were back in Cabo laying on the beach basking in the HOT sun, with my i.pod playing some Bob Marley, with a pina colada drink in my hand. {Sigh}
- Anxiously awaiting the arrival of my new pink i.pod from the mailman.
- Thankful it's the weekend.
- Wishin' Tay didn't have a runny nose.
- Wishin' I had a tan.
- Just wishin' it were summer. Or at least spring.

spud bag
Most of you know that I grew up on a farm. Potatoes, pipes, feeding the cows & horses. There was always something to do. And even though it was tough work and there were times that I absolutely hated working on the farm... I've grown to LOVE what I was able to do.
So... when I saw these bags, my mind went racing back to working in the fields and in the cellars sortin' spuds. I love getting in one of the old farm trucks and smelling the smell of spuds & dirt. I really do LOVE that smell! It just smells like home.
I think I really need one of these! What's a country girl without one of these bags?! What a clever idea too! {Wish I would've thought of it.}
You can check them out here.

a {little} love
While trying to get a quick 20 min. nap in with a child that has more energy than the energizer bunny and milk being soaked through my pants from her sippy cup, I heard the mailman pull up to the mailbox and drop off his normal bills and junk mail. Only, this time... he brought the most thoughtful letter I've received in such a long time.
One of my most dearest friends in the world and who I feel so incredibly lucky to have met, Cindy, {she's the cutest ever!} sent me this {little} letter. You know those world smallest letters I wrote about a few posts ago? This was like it... but better. It isn't my birthday, not a holiday or anniversary and it was written just to me. There is nothing like getting a hand written letter on a day when you least expect it.
I love you more than you know, Cindy! I needed this so much today! I'm speechless as to what I can say to you to let you know how much this meant to me! You amaze me in so many ways and you have more love in your heart for those around you than anyone I've ever known.
Right now... I'm speechless. Thankful. Humbled. Loved. And I feel so thankful to have been given such an amazing and beautiful friend!

Ok... aren't these the cutest little luggage sets you've ever seen! I love vintage luggage and regularly check our local D.I. for some good ones. {No luck yet}.
I love these because they have the vintage feel but with a modern twist.

sweet 16
My absolutely gorgeous sister turned 16 on Sunday! To celebrate we went to Utah for a girls weekend for food, fun & shopping! {My mom made it a tradition for her daughters to go to Utah and eat at The Roof and shop all weekend. Definitely a tradition I want to keep up with my own daughters too!}
We shopped 'till we dropped! Got TONS of cute things! Ate at The Roof {one of my favorite places to eat!} & I experienced the Mayan for the first time & had some Olive Garden to end the weekend. Yumm.o!
I remember wishing & hoping for a little sister when I was younger and I remember when she finally came to our family! She was my little doll that I toted around on my hip everywhere. I'm so thankful for her and for the relationship we have with each other. Even though she is my little sister, I look up to her a lot and she is an amazing example to me. She has so many talents & qualities that I'd love to have! I can't think of a better sister to have than her and I love her SO much!

Dear Whitney...
I am loving your new show... The City! {It's so much better than The Hills.} A good move in the right direction if you ask me!
I am NOT loving your sick boyfriend though, Jay. He's greasy, grimey and I don't think he's as committed to you as you want him to be. Trust me when I say... "You can do SO much better!"
And who does Olivia think she is? A gift from God? I can't stand her.
I love your friend Erin & her groovy apt and I'll keep dreaming of a place like hers.
And... please send me the information where to get your AMAZINGLY CUTE SOFA! I want it very badly! I think it'd spice up my living room and add just the right touch. If you ever decide to get rid of it... call me and I'll gladly take it over!
Thanks for keeping Mondy nights entertaining.
I really do love your sofa! {Sigh}.
Sincerely...
Sheena
{I ♥ this sofa so much.}

We had a great day and it was good to just be able to relax during the day and visit famiy and then to have a few hours to ourselves at night.
I just have to give a shout out to my wonderful hubby and tell him how much I love him! He is more than I could've ever asked for in a husband and works hard and is so patient with me. He's such an amazing dad to Taylin too and I just couldn't ask for anything better! I love you babe!
Hope all of you lovelies reading this had a marvelous day too!

Taylin loves to color. On her legs, the walls, coloring books and basically whatever she can get her little sweet hands on.
Lately, this is her favorite spot to {think & color}. Her little body fits perfectly in between the bookshelf & computer desk. She could sit here for hours and just color and draw away.

the little miss
Taylin...
- You talk a lot! You can say... {dog, woof, "side" for outside, where'd it go, there it is, hat, shoes, socks, oh wow, sit, yum, eyes, this, sick, Jesus}.
- You love to watch cartoons and your favorite is The Backyardigans.
- When we ask you "Where is Jesus?" you run to the picture and point to it and say His name.
- You fold your arms and sometimes close your eyes when it's time to pray.
- You love to go outside.
- You love the bathtub! You always have since your very first bath. You've never fussed.
- You love little kids.
- You love dogs. Especially, Sage. {My parents' dog}.
- You love riding in G.ma & G.pa Buxton's car. And the moment you get in you have to watch your Backyardigans DVD and have all of the screens down.
- You sleep all night long. Mommy & Daddy love it!
- You have all of your teeth in.
- You love to dress up. Jewelry, rings, purses, shoes... you love it all!
- You love to eat popcorn, oranges, cheese, hotdogs, green beans, carrots, crackers, ice cream, grapes, raisins, goldfish crackers. {Ok... I don't know of anything you don't like.}
- You love your sippy cup!
- When you're sleepy, you bring me your sippy & blanket and you let me know you're ready to nap.
- You give the best kisses!
- You know where your eyes, hair, ears, feet and nose are.
- You love to talk on the phone.
- You love to play with your teacup set.
- You love to dance. It's so cute!

There are many more things you do and love too. Every little thing you do makes me smile. It's fun to see you explore and learn new things. You're very smart and most of the time you're happy. I feel lucky to have such a good little girl!
I just want you to know that I love you more than anything! There is nothing I woudn't do for you!
I hope you know how much your mom & dad love you and how very thankful we are to get to be your parents! We look forward to many more years of you growing and learning and stealing our hearts over and over again!
Love... Your mom

I HAVE to have this closet someday! Whether it's for me, or Tay, i'll take it! It is complete with all of my favorite things! Black chandi's on the wall and one hanging, polka.dots, houndstooth ottoman & chair, shoes, a BIG fat mirror and lots of pink!

{Nicky Hilton's closet.}
I also love this one. I love the dark wood floors and the glass doors. It makes her clothing supply look like artwork.
LOVE.

thinking
I spend a lot of my time blog searching. I know... what a waste of time. But it's what I like to do when I get those few and far in.between babyless moments. This time blog searching... I found a gem.
I happened to come upon this blog and for the past day I've been crying like a baby. First off... what a BEAUTIFUL family! They really are.
I have no words to describe my thoughts and feelings today. It's a cold, cloudy and gray day and it's been one of those {thinking} days. A day where the tears and emotions are running freely and you just can't help it. A day where I've been thinking of many wonderful things I've been blessed with. A day where I've been thinking of what really matters the most.
After reading practically this whole blog... I've come to appreciate a little more of the precious time we have with family here on earth.
I've thought a lot about if I were in that situation... would I have enough strength? Enough faith? Enough understanding? It would be so incredibly hard! I know I don't even know this family, but my heart hurts for them and happy to know that their sweet little girl is in a better place, patiently waiting for her family to join her in Heaven.
My faith has been strengthened from reading this blog. I hope that they don't mind I'm sharing this with my blog readers.
I'm just thinking and thankful today. That's all.

Ok... if you read the {about me} section... you know that I love tiny & miniature things.
Will someone please send me one of these?! How cute are they?! Maybe I'll just send one to myself. I want a whole box of these! Wouldn't it be so cute with a love note on it? {Too bad Adam doesn't read this that much. He could totally give me one of these for ♥ day.}
For now... I'll just dream about opening my mail box and seeing this teeny tiny letter.

- I love that zebra rug!
- LOVE the paisley wall with those colors!
- A dash of pink is to be seen!
- The stairs and the dark railing.
- The big comfy chair with those oh so adorable pillows.

{sheena}
I had a friend ask me not too long ago to tell her 3 things that she doesn't know about me. And... I just couldn't think of what to tell her about my boring life that she'd think would be interesting.
This is for you {Kristin}... and the rest of you who are new and have missed bits and pieces of who I am.
- HI... my name is Sheena. Like Sheena, Queen of the Jungle. Or Sheena Easton. I was named after them. I used to hate my name... but I love it now!
- I absolutely love my family to pieces and don't know what I'd do without them! I love each of their different personalities and what they bring to the family. I love them!
- I am married to the most amazing, hard working, patient & loving man. I feel so incredibly lucky to have him as my best friend and husband.
- We have the most adorable little girl, Taylin Zee, who has made me feel more love than I thought I could ever feel!
- I love love love being a mom! It's one of the hardest things I've ever done, but definitely one of the most rewarding. I wouldn't trade being a mom for anything!
- My other bestest friends in the whole wide world is my Mamacita & sister. They inspire me in so many ways. They're beautiful, smart, talented, selfless, fashionable and everything else in the book! I'd take a day or minute with them in a heartbeat!
- I am always freezing cold!
- I make lists for everything. To.do lists. Groceries. Any kind of list. I love to make lists!
- I'm obsessed with wanting to organize everything. I'm not OCD though.
- I love freshly sharpened pencils. They make me want to write and doodle.
- I doodle a lot and on everything.
- I love office & paper supplies & stationery & cute paper.
- I love cards. Like cards you send to people. Funny ones. Sad ones. Love ones. Vintage ones.
- I ♥ polka.dots! {Hence the name... Polka.dots & High Heels}.
- I also LOVE shoes! I love a cute pair of heels with class & sass.
- My wedding colors were hot pink, black, silver & black & white polka.dots. I loved my wedding.
- I love my little hometown of Driggs.
- I love color. Bright & bold!
- I also love black. I think it looks classy & bold.
- I went to BYU.I and studied Interior Design.
- I love all forms of design. Interior, graphic, hair, fashion. I love it all!
- I love magazines and ripping out great home & design ideas. I am always searching for great home ideas on blogs and the internet.
- I don't know what I'd do without the internet. I love the internet!
- I love blogging. It's fun to meet new inspirational, crafty, amazing women. It takes up a lot of my time.
- I am LDS and LOVE the gospel! I don't know where I'd be without it and I feel so fortunate and blessed to have had parents who've raised me in the gospel.
- I love going to the temple and getting to be there with my family.
- I am the Laurel advisor in the Y.W. for our ward.
- I am also a ward missionary, on the activities committee and of course... a visiting teacher. I don't always do my v.t. like I should, but when I do, I'm glad I did it.
- I love to dance. When I'm cleaning, I like to put on some good music, crank it up loud and dance, sing & clean away the day!
- I love old vintage black & white movies. Especially the ones with Frank, Fred, Audrey, Grace & Bing. I could watch these for days!
- I always wear my belt so the buckle is on my right side of my hip.
- I love to clean. I have to be in the right mood, but I do love to do it. Except doing the dishes. I hate the dishes!
- I really like to vacuum.
- I love the outdoors. Biking. {motor & pedal}. Camping. Fishing. Hiking. Running. All of it.
- I love to run. I can run and run and run and not get tired of it. Except when I'm on a treadmill. That's boring. But I could run outside, especially by my house in Driggs, forever. It's so exhilarating and it feels good!
- I really love the color pink. I'm drawn to pink things. And sparkly things too.
- I love miniature things. Things are just cuter when they're mini.
- I love my Grandma Buxton's homemade raspberry/huckleberry jam. And her strawberry too. It's to die for!
- I wish I knew how to can. {It's on my list of things to do for the year.}
- I love to shop. Even if it's to the dollar store. Cha.ching!
- I love the dollar store. {Mostly the Dollar Tree}.
- I love big sunglasses & big bags.
- I also love lip gloss. You can't ever have enough lip gloss.
- Pear Jelly Belly's are my favorite.
- I love taking pictures.
- I love when my little girl randomly gives me kisses & hugs me. It melts my heart.
- Someday I want to own my own boutique shop. I'm always coming up with ideas for what I want to sell in it and what I want it to look like.
- I love reality tv. Probably a little too much. It's just so entertaining.
- I love to dress up & be girly, but I'm not afraid to get muddy and dirty.
- I like the look of jeans and high heels.
- I love zip.up hoodies too.
- I like music. And I like a little of everything. From Frank Sinatra to old school rap and everything in between. {Some of my favorites are on my playlist.}
- I love to go on drives or walks. It's refreshing.
- I am a romantic. I love gushy movies, love notes, kind gestures. {Go ahead, vomit.}
- I love jewelry.
- I also love vintage things.
- I love the smell of fresh cut grass in the summer. The sound of lawn mowers in the summer makes me happy. {Except when people are out mowing when they should be in bed.}
- I love sleeping on the tramp at my house under the stars. It's such a big big world we live in.
- I love laughing. It feels good to laugh. My husband is funny and makes me laugh a lot.
- I love sports. My favorite is basketball. I also love play soccer.
- I love getting mail. But not junk mail. There's nothing like getting a nice handwritten note or card from someone you know or love.
- I love the change in seasons. I love the winter, but only a month of it will do. I'm so ready for spring & summer.
- I love birthdays! I love to give and to decorate for them. Mostly... I just love to eat cake.
- I also love wedding cake. Sometimes I go to receptions just so I can have some cake. :) When I was prego, I craved wedding cake. And green olives.
- I love big funky flowers. Don't get me wrong... I'd love to get roses anytime, but I prefer big funky flowers. Like ones you don't normally get or see.
- I like things in odd numbers. Like... I'd rather have 3 picture frames hanging on the wall together instead of 2 or 4. I don't know how to explain this. Things are just better in odds.
- When I get gas... I can't stop on $15.24. It has to be either on exactly $15 or then by 25 cents. Like... either $15.25 .50 or .75. And I'll keep going until I hit it exactly on that.
- When I grocery shop or just shop in general... I always grab from the back. My mom taught me this and I can't stand grabbing from the front. Or I'll search until I find a clean or better looking item.
- When I'm in the check out line... I organize my items by how they are in my house. Like... all of the cleaning items go together, fridge or cold foods, etc. I often get told by the check.out cashier/baggers that they like this because it's easier for them to bag.
- I used to hate to read... but I love it now! I love reading a good book.
- I can't put the dishes in the dishwasher without them being rinsed off first. It bugs me.
- I also can't stand when the light switches aren't the same way. Like if there is 2 on a switch... they both have to be up or down. It drives me batty if they aren't the same way.
- And I can't stand when things are off center or crooked. It makes my life feel off centered too. Ugh.
- I think it's fun to take something old and ugly and turn it into something new. It gets kind of addicting.
- I don't like pop/soda. I'd much rather quench my thirst with a frosty icy glass of water or juice.
- I'm 1/4 Mexican. I don't look anything like it. My Grandma Cook is full, my mom is 1/2. I like being a part of a Mexican family. They know how to party and eat!
- My mom's & grandma's homemade Mexican food is the best! I've never had better!
- I hate using public restrooms. They're so germy. I always flush the toilet with my feet and I open the doors with paper towells or toilet paper so I don't have to touch the handles.
- I love quarters. They're so much better than pennies, nickels and dimes.
- I have a few words that just make me cringe. Do any of you have any words that do that to you? Maybe I'm just weird.
- I never knew how to play pinochle until I met Adam. Then it was a must for me to learn how to play it. That's all we play when we visit them. And I love it! It's an addicting game. Even if you're losing, the thought of getting a good hand the next round keeps you going. Until you get a full hand of 9's & jacks.
- I don't think I've ever heard my name {Sheena} come out of Adam's grandma's mouth. My name is always Toots. {Not like when you toot or fart.} Like tootsie, but without the ie. She's always called me that since the first time I met her.
- I've never broken a bone in my life.
- I'm a certified turbo.kickboxing instructor. Someday I'll teach it.
Maybe that was too much information for you guys. I mostly just wanted to jot them down so I can keep it as part of my blogging journal. Things like these are interesting for me to read when they come from other people too. And it'll be interesting for me to look back on someday.
Anyways... here's a start to getting to know me and what I like.
